Help for LaterTabs.

LaterTabs is intentionally small: save a browser context, find it later, and restore it when you need it again.

Common questions

Where are my saved sessions stored?

Saved sessions are stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. They are not uploaded to a LaterTabs server.

Why did a Chrome internal page not restore?

Chrome internal URLs can be saved as metadata, but Chrome does not allow extensions to recreate every internal or unsupported URL.

Does restoring a saved session delete it?

No. Restoring a session opens the saved tabs but keeps the saved session available until you delete it.

Can LaterTabs read the contents of pages?

No. LaterTabs does not inject content scripts and does not read page text, DOM contents, screenshots, or form contents.

Troubleshooting

If a session does not restore as expected

  • Check whether any tabs were Chrome internal pages or unsupported URLs.
  • Confirm the saved session still appears in the LaterTabs popup.
  • Try restoring one saved window or one tab instead of the full session.
  • Restart Chrome if extension APIs appear stuck.
