LaterTabs keeps saved sessions on your device.

Effective date: May 29, 2026. LaterTabs is a Chrome extension by Alexander Zagaynov for saving and restoring browser tabs and tab groups.

Summary

LaterTabs is local-first. It does not use accounts, analytics, a backend, external APIs, content scripts, host permissions, or page-content reading. Saved sessions stay in your browser unless you choose to remove the extension or clear its local data.

Information stored by the extension

LaterTabs stores only the tab and session metadata needed for its core save and restore functionality.

  • Tab URLs
  • Tab titles
  • Favicon URLs
  • Pinned, active, and order metadata
  • Tab group title, color, and collapsed state
  • Session names and timestamps
  • Small local settings, such as close-after-saving preference

Where information is stored

Saved sessions are stored locally in IndexedDB in your browser. Small settings are stored locally in chrome.storage.local.

Information LaterTabs does not collect

  • Page text or DOM contents
  • Form contents
  • Authentication credentials
  • Personal communications
  • Location data
  • Health, financial, or payment data
  • Analytics identifiers

Data sharing and transmission

LaterTabs does not transmit saved sessions to any server. It does not sell, rent, share, or transfer user data to third parties. It does not send telemetry or analytics.

Chrome permissions

LaterTabs requests the tabs, tabGroups, and storage permissions. These permissions are used to read tab metadata after user actions, recreate saved tabs and groups during restore, and store local settings.

Removing data

You can delete saved sessions inside the extension. You can also remove all extension data by uninstalling LaterTabs from Chrome or clearing the extension's site data through Chrome settings.
