Summary
LaterTabs is local-first. It does not use accounts, analytics, a backend, external APIs, content scripts, host permissions, or page-content reading. Saved sessions stay in your browser unless you choose to remove the extension or clear its local data.
Information stored by the extension
LaterTabs stores only the tab and session metadata needed for its core save and restore functionality.
- Tab URLs
- Tab titles
- Favicon URLs
- Pinned, active, and order metadata
- Tab group title, color, and collapsed state
- Session names and timestamps
- Small local settings, such as close-after-saving preference
Where information is stored
Saved sessions are stored locally in IndexedDB in your browser. Small
settings are stored locally in chrome.storage.local.
Information LaterTabs does not collect
- Page text or DOM contents
- Form contents
- Authentication credentials
- Personal communications
- Location data
- Health, financial, or payment data
- Analytics identifiers
Data sharing and transmission
LaterTabs does not transmit saved sessions to any server. It does not sell, rent, share, or transfer user data to third parties. It does not send telemetry or analytics.
Chrome permissions
LaterTabs requests the tabs, tabGroups, and
storage permissions. These permissions are used to read tab
metadata after user actions, recreate saved tabs and groups during restore,
and store local settings.
Removing data
You can delete saved sessions inside the extension. You can also remove all extension data by uninstalling LaterTabs from Chrome or clearing the extension's site data through Chrome settings.
